Esteemed Academicians, Researchers and Participants,

We are very proud to invite you to the 2nd Balıkesir Symposium to be organized by Balıkesir University Institute of Social Sciences. As it is known, Balıkesir is an important cultural and university city of Southern Marmara with its geographical, historical, cultural, social, economic, natural, touristic, gastronomic and human resources. Organized for the first time in 2005 with the contributions of Balıkesir University and Balıkesir Municipality, Balıkesir Symposium has been an important step in examining and revealing the characteristics of the city from a scientific perspective. With the 2nd Balıkesir Symposium to be held this year, it is aimed to introduce the rich values ​​and potential of the city to a wider audience and to contribute to new scientific studies by presenting scientific studies based on Balıkesir face to face.

The symposium will focus on a wide range of topics covering various social science fields. It is also aimed to provide a suitable academic environment for the presentation of independent research prepared by graduate students. It is envisaged that our event will primarily include original research on the following topics related to Balıkesir:

• Gastronomy and Culinary Arts

• Economics and Administrative Sciences
• Theological Sciences

• Turkish Language and Literature
• Foreign Languages

In addition, it will be possible to present papers on other topics that fall within the scope of, but are not limited to, the general topics above.
